Hiking in the mountains is our passion and you probably met us during one of our adventures or someone told you about their adventure with us. We love to have friends like you join us, our experience will be the richer for it.
Welcome to our website!
Over the past 20+ years, we found that planning our European vacations became very time consuming. We figured why not be the local resource for our friends, finding them accommodations, hiking paths, museums, wineries, castles and navigate the local transportation system. We love staying with local people and overnight in apartments, mountain refuges < Rifugio or Berggasthof >, farms, hostels and even campground cabins. Most of our accommodations have cooking facilities but the best place to experience local cuisine is in Rifugio or in one of the small huts on the Alpine pasture < Malga or Alm > . Sometimes the accommodations are fairly basic but always clean and comfortable. Of course there are also very luxurious hotels and spas, its' your choice. Our entertainment is mostly the scenic mountain hikes we organize. If the hike becomes too strenuous there is also the option of the local cable car, wait for us at the top in the comfort of the Rifugio that you are bound to find at the top station. As we are committed to a healthy environment so we never rent a car. It happens so that South Tirol has an awesome and inexpensive public transportation system and we can get to all trail heads and accommodations by bus/train and perhaps a bit of a walk. Our trips to the Dolomites are usually the month of June and September. Recently we have added the Portuguese Algarve region for March and Canada's Bruce trail for the winter months.

Our Companion Hikes
It is essential that you pack light as you may have to change trains/buses and sometimes stroll your luggage but at least it’ll give you a nice warm-up for your hike. Accommodations are always clean and well maintained, from basic to more luxurious and sometimes there is even a private spa with sauna and steam bath available. Camping is another option; I do this during my September trip, although I can never seem to get Philomena to sleep in a tent except in those house tents already set up with beds and linen.
Knowing even a few phrases of your hosts language will make it more interesting when meeting new people; which has always been my main reason for traveling. Although I do speak German, one of the main languages in the Dolomites, I am actively learning Italian at the moment. If you’d like to learn a few words or phrases I suggest beginning with the Duolingo App
